Commonly known as the eastern anchor of the GTA and the Golden Horseshoe, Oshawa is the largest municipality in the Durham Region. With roots tied to the automobile industry, specifically the Canadian division of General Motors the city was once recognized as the sole automotive capital of Canada.
Today, Oshawa is a technology and health sciences hub. The city is home to three post-secondary institutions: Durham College, The University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Trent University (Durham Campus) and as well as Lakeridge Health Hospital which serves as one of the leading cancer care centers in Ontario
With a plethora of university campuses, restaurants, theatres and entertainment options, Oshawa is a fantastic and growing community that would be a great choice for first time home buyers.
